Chapter 32 Summary

This chapter is set in the café on June 16, 1936. Idgie hears voices outside and knows someone has been hurt. Biddie Louise Otis runs to the café and tells Idgie that her little boy has been run over by a train. Idgie tells Onzell to keep Ruth in the back of the café. When she gets to the tracks, he is lying on the ground staring up. He is six years old. She thinks he's okay, until she sees his arm lying three feet away. Big George runs him to Dr. Hadley's house.

Back in the café, Onzell won't let Ruth outside. She asks if it is her son. Sipsey is talking to God and telling him not to do this to Ruth and Idgie. Dr. Hadley puts the little boy, Buddy Jr.,.....
