Chapters 26-29 Summary

In Chapter 26, Anna and Burt get married. Friday "sort of marries" Goldie and they move into a crackerbox. For the first time in Friday's life she becomes a homeowner and a housewife. Goldie gets cold for a job. Friday continues to try to reach Georges, Ian, Janet, Betty and Freddie but is unsuccessful.

Friday continues to look for work realizing that she will not be able to live in Las Vegas long before she goes broke.

Friday continues to look for work and considers a dangerous position that promises could pay. When Friday returns home she receives a note from Goldie saying that she is gone to Texas to accept a job with a former Boss. Goldie asks Friday to join her but says she will understand if she must stay behind and look for her Canadian friends.
