Summary

In Chapter 8, Frances and Malcolm left the Four Seasons (without paying). They went to their apartment but discovered they had been locked out by the bank. Their cat, Small Frank, was sitting on the sidewalk. They picked up their remaining funds from Mr. Baker and went to a cruise ship ticketing office. They bought tickets for a cruise to France, but the clerk informed them they could not bring Small Frank aboard. Frances told Malcolm to leave the cat behind. The clerk was surprised, but Small Frank took a circuitous route around the harbor, then snuck onto the ship. Once aboard, Malcolm felt seasick, and Frances regaled him with stories from her past. Malcolm pointed to the cat and said, “Tell me about him” (56). Malcolm learned there was a psychic working on board, and went off in search of her. He found her...
