The Forest

Originally, Fox 8 lives with other foxes in a forest. However, this forest is eventually destroyed by humans in order to make room for a shopping mall. The longer the foxes remain there, the more malnourished they become, as the destruction of the forest has destroyed the ecosystem there. Fox 8 eventually departs permanently after becoming separated from his pack.

The Mall

After the humans destroy the foxes’ forest, they build a shopping mall on the location. One day, in desperate search of food, Fox 8 and Fox 7 venture into the mall. They are awed by the fact that humans are able to create something as large and complex as the mall. Humans give food to the foxes, and for the moment, Fox 8 has complete respect and admiration for the humans’ capabilities and apparent generosity.

The House

Fox 8 learned to speak the human language by visiting a particular human house...
