Chapter 16 Summary

Stephanie goes into the Glick's half of the duplex and finds a very clean home, except for a terrible smell coming from the basement. Stephanie goes down there and discovers a dead body. Before Stephanie can leave, however, the Glicks come home. Leo tells Stephanie that he was a mob enforcer before retiring to Trenton and that he had been running a counterfeit money scheme with a partner, the man who is dead downstairs. Maxine found out about the counterfeit money when Kuntz was holding the plates for the Glicks during Morelli's investigation. Thinking the plates were Kuntz's, Maxine took off with them to hurt Kuntz. Instead, Leo went after Maxine and her family and friends to get his plates back. Leo is now intent on killing Stephanie, but Lula has been working.....
