Chapter 9 Summary

Stephanie and Morelli spend the night in bed together. The next morning Stephanie finds herself thinking about things such as buying Morelli a cookie jar. Commitment enters her mind, causing her distress since Morelli is not the kind of guy who settles down. Stephanie suffers teasing when she goes in to the bonds office and the girls guess what she spent her evening doing. However, Stephanie is all business, speaking to Vinnie about Joyce's interference on the Maxine Nowicki case. Vinnie agrees to take Joyce off the case as long as Stephanie proves success within the next few days.
