Chapter 4 Summary

Stephanie begins to get nervous when Morelli does not leave. Stephanie wants to go get the next clue from Mrs. Nowicki's house, but she does not want to explain to Morelli what she is doing. However, just as Stephanie is about to give in, Sally arrives with the note. Sally and Morelli have a brief and tense encounter when Sally gets the impression that Stephanie is having trouble making Morelli leave. Stephanie soothes their ruffled feathers and sends Sally home. Left with the clue, Stephanie is forced to explain to Morelli what it is. When Morelli begins to make fun of the case and Stephanie, she sends him home.

The next morning, Stephanie stops by Kuntz's house with the new clue. The clue says that Kuntz is to wait for Maxine on their bench.....
