Part 2, Chapter 14 Summary

As Peter prepares to leave with Katie, Dominique arrives and accepts his earlier marriage proposal. She has a car waiting and insists upon an immediate answer. Peter elopes with her, and they are married immediately. Afterwards, Peter allows his sexual desire for her to occupy his thoughts. Dominique intends to move into Peter's apartment the next day. She does not plan to stay with him that night, frustrating his desire. Instead, she goes to Roark.

Roark and Dominique make love. The next morning, she seems to have sapped his energy. She reveals that she has married Peter but professes her love for Roark. She feels she must torture herself because she can't accept the vast gulf between the world's stupidity and Roark's greatness. When he asks, she says.....
