Part 2, Chapter 10 Summary

In June of 1929, Enright House opens, and at an informal gathering, a photographer captures Roark looking up at his creation. It seems to have the feeling of the sublime about it, but the photographer's editor buries it in the photo morgue. The house is rented to tenants who love it, but the house has many critics. Toohey refuses to comment about the house in his column, even when a reader writes in to him. Roark finds work building the Norris country house and the Anthony Cord's fifty-story skyscraper. However, people criticize his work style as cold and inhuman, his workers find comfort in his pure and unsullied appreciation of competence. Those who stay become his friends for life.
