While Peter is away, managing the construction of a Washington museum, Francon meets with Roark. One of the firm's clients wants a building similar to the Dana building. They won't accept the firm's designs. Since Roark worked with Cameron, Francon asks him for a design. Roark wants to design the building using his creative talent, but Francon would rather see the Dana Building re-imagined into classical architecture. Roark disagrees and is fired, later sharing the news with his friend Mike. Francon tells Peter of his desire for Lili Landau. He is competing with the Banner's Gail Wynand. As an afterthought, Francon lets Peter know that Roark was fired. Peter is almost relieved. Roark can't find work because of his non-traditional methods and his history, kicked out of architecture school and fired.....
