Golan Travize

Golan Travize is a councilman of the ruling galactic government of the day, though he's not a councilman in good standing at the time of this book. Travize has voted against Seldon's Plan - a complicated series of calculations that he admits he doesn't understand. He believes there is some hidden or undisguised part of that plan that makes it unworkable for the future of the human race. Instead, he wants humans to become Gaian. Rather than a specific planet, Gaia is a single consciousness that could stretch across the entire galaxy. Travize has now come to doubt his decision and believes the answer he seeks is on Earth. He sets out on a journey to find the planet that some believe to be nothing more than a myth.
