Alpha - The Center of the Worlds Summary

Pelorat explains that he believes Yariff's Project would have worked, had the scientist had good information. The supposition was that Earth would be located in a central location with the newly settled planets spaced fairly evenly around it. Pelorat points out the fifty planets listed in the Hall of the Worlds and says that he believes Earth will be situated centrally to those planets. Trevize immediately begins the calculations in his head, a process that first makes Pelorat think that perhaps it is hopeless. Nevertheless, Trevize says it's not and that the computer can calculate a location fairly quickly. Trevize plots a course to the next planet and tells Pelorat that the planet is included on the galaxy star map in the ship's computer.
