Part 3, Dors Venabili, Chapters 1-13 Summary
Wanda Seldon, almost eight, has had a bad dream about her grandfather turning sixty. Her mother, Manella, and Hari assure her that he is not about to die. In Chapter 2, as Hari laments the signs of aging in him but not in Dors, Manella sees that focusing on psychohistory has kept him out of contact with people, particularly children. Manella's desire to protect Hari puts her at odds with Dors. In Chapter 3, Manella recalls the aftermath of the assassination: Gruber's execution without trial, Cleon's son renouncing the throne, the likelihood of military rule, and possibility that Manella might face death for having inadvertently providing Gruber's weapon. Rationality does not operate. When he retires from politics and returns to Streeling University, Hari gives Manella a security job. In Chapter 4, Raych arrives, complaining about how weather control is deteriorating and noting that Wanda is talking about Hari dying. Manella...
