Part 1, Chapters 3-4 Summary

A small band of Lone Eaters heads toward the Crow camp. Yellow Kidney brings White Man's Dog because he respects his father. His prime concern is Fast Horse's boastful recklessness could bring trouble. They sit in a war lodge where Fast Horse shares a power dream. In the dream, Cold Maker asks Fast Horse to find a frozen spring blocked by a large rock. The challenge is to remove the rock. If Fast Horse does not complete the task, he is warned that the entire party will be punished. They do not find it but continue onward.
