Chicago

The book is set primarily in Chicago. Dresden travels multiple parts of the city, from the lower middle-class neighborhood where he lives, to the poverty struck areas where the Streetwolf’s rule, to the rich areas where MacFinn has a home.

Police Station

MacFinn is taken to the police station to the same floor where Special Investigations is housed. Dresden knows he will become a loup-garou when the moon comes up, so he attempts to get there before that happens to make a circle of protection around him, but he is too late. The loup-garou gets out of the cells and attacks anyone who gets in its way. Dresden is able to use magic to stop it for that night, but must make a plan to stop it permanently.
