Summary

During Ada’s next tryst with Samson, Samson mentions that his sister Olivia is pregnant. Ada assumes that the father is Harry, Ada’s recently deceased lover. Later, when Ada is at home, Father asks her if she has been meeting with someone when she leaves the house on her own. Ada evades Father’s questions. That night, Father goes out to hunt deer in the woods. He hunts without the use of any weapons or tools. The next day, Samson’s sister Olivia comes to Ada and Father’s home. She is pregnant. Ada uses her powers to inspect the unborn child, which appears to be healthy. Ada says the baby will have green eyes. Olivia says that the baby’s father has green eyes. This statement confuses Ada, as Harry did not have green eyes.
