Chapter 8 Summary

While Donna was out shopping, Noah watched the TV interview. It wasn't as bad as he thought. His lawyer appeared with him and described Paine as a "pillar of the community." (83) Mr. Shine dropped by to see Donna. He wouldn't tell Noah what he wanted to talk to Donna about and wouldn't confirm whether Donna was seeking a divorce. All he would tell Noah was that he had some good news for his mother. After the lawyer left, Shelly came speeding up in her Jeep and ordered Noah to get in.
