Summary

Anna goes out for dinner with Joseph and a man named Mr Hirsch in "Anna." Mr Hirsh promises to write a reference letter to help get Anna's parents a visa. He jokingly suggests she try marrying an American instead. Anna has her first swimming lesson with Stuart. He takes her to The Covington's pool. At one point, his father comes by to say hello and Stuart treats him coldly. Back at the apartment, Anna neglects to tell Esther about Stuart's lessons. Anna remembers a time that Florence comforted her after she cried. Florence ended up kissing her on the lips, leaving Anna feeling confused.

Gussie hears her grandmother crying in the bath in "Gussie." She enters and chats with Esther, who promises to take her to see her mother at some point. Gussie would rather go at once and starts behaving...
