In second period one day, Mrs. Simmons gave out ballots to vote for the twenty boys who would become the basket boys for the Booster Club. The boys in class moaned and groaned about voting for boys! Mrs. Simmons defended the tradition. The money that the auction earned was behind all the beautiful trees on campus. Juli looked down the list of candidates and spotted Bryce's name. He had always been the only boy for her. But she had been wrong. She liked him for all the wrong reasons.

Bryce made the top twenty and so did Jon Trulock, the boy that Juli voted for. She heard that Shelly was after Bryce again evoking possessive feelings in Juli. But she had to fight those feelings.
