Chapter 4 Summary

"The First Person Eddie Meets in Heaven." The Blue Man tells Eddie in a soothing voice not to be afraid. He suggests that Eddie's body feels like that of a child, and Eddie agrees. "You were a child when you knew me, that's why," he says. "You start with the same feelings you had." (p. 32, ll. 10, 11)

The Blue Man walks outside, Eddie following, to find an empty amusement park. He asks Eddie about one of the rides from that seventy-five-years-ago time. He tells Eddie that things don't change where they are now. Eddie asks the Blue Man how he (Eddie) died and when. The Blue Man answers that he died in an accident, and he has been here a minute, an hour or a thousand years. Eddie asks where he is.....
