Saint Grace's Hospital

Nearly the entire novel takes place in Saint Grace's Hospital, where Stella and Will have both recently been admitted as patients. Stella has been a patient of Saint Grace's off and on since she was six years old, and the staff there, including Dr. Hamid, and the nurses Barb and Julie, are like family to her. She refers to the hospital as her "home away from home" (8). Stella likes to visit the NICU to look at the babies, and over the course of their romance, Stella and Will visit the hospital's gym, pool, and kitchen (where Will's birthday party is held). Stella's stuffed panda Patches was purchased for her in the hospital's gift shop by Abby the first time she was admitted there. Though Stella feels comfortable in the hospital because she has stayed there so frequently, it is also full of memories of the sister...
