Summary

After the fighting was over, Aegon turned his attention to solidifying the seven kingdoms as a single realm. He and his sisters brokered marriages between houses all over the realm, fostered children at court, and spent half his year travelling to other castles in order to mingle with his Lords and Ladies. But he also set up court wherever he went so he could hear the smallfolk. He travelled with six maesters to educate him on the customs and histories of the lands, and in order to make note of his decrees. Mostly, he allowed the kingdoms to run as they had before because he wanted to create peace. Before he conquered Westeros, hardly a few months went by without fighting breaking out in the realm.
