Donald Trump is the 44th President of the United States. Prior to becoming President, he had no political experience and worked as a real estate developer and media personality. Trump’s views and ideology are largely undefined, though he tends toward nationalist policies and relies heavily on the input of his family, advisors and cable news anchors. He is also prone to impulsive and highly personalized decisions.

Steve Bannon

Steve Bannon was the Chief Strategist of the Trump administration until August 2017. Unlike Trump, Bannon has a highly coherent worldview based on hypernationalism and an isolationist foreign policy. Upon joining the Trump campaign in August 2016, Bannon became its most prominent ideologue, filling a void left by the candidate himself. Bannon’s views were particularly influential during the early part of the administration.
