Chapters 12-16 Summary

Chapter 12. That night Laura goes home feeling good, content with her life. Laura bathes and dresses, realizing at the last minute that she is preparing to go see Michael. This causes her to hesitate, especially when she reaches the steps outside his apartment. Instead of going up, Laura goes into the stable to check on the foal. Michael comes down and confronts Laura. After a few minutes, he demands that she admit she has come to submit to him. When she does, Michael takes Laura into an empty stall and they spend most of the night making love. The following morning, when she wakes, Michael makes love to Laura again before taking her upstairs to find some clothes to replace the ones that were ripped the night before.
