Summary

Michelle was devastated from the loss of Lobo. She “talked” to Joey everyday and had her radio. That was her life. One afternoon, Castro announced that he was going to let Michelle sit on the back porch. She didn’t know what to think or expect. Before they went outside, he gave her some old clothes to put on and made her put on a wig and huge sunglasses. He also pulled a handgun and warned her not to try anything “stupid.” He put the gun in his back pocket and led her onto the porch. It was the first time in over three months that Michelle had been outside. The backyard was as junky as they rest of the house. She noticed rusty chains strewn about the yard. Castro made her help him with some wood he was cutting.
