Train

Sami and Miranda first encounter each other on a train in Italy. They are both heading to Rome. Sami is going to spend time with his son, and Miranda is going to spend time with her ailing father. On the train, Sami and Miranda quickly develop a relatively intimate rapport. When they arrive in Rome, Miranda insists that Sami have dinner with herself and her father.

Rome

Rome is the capital and most populous city in Italy. In Chapter 1, Sami and Miranda have lunch with Miranda’s ailing father at his apartment in Rome. Sami and Miranda then tour part of Rome, and Miranda attends a reading/lecture that Sami gives. At night, Sami and Miranda have passionate sex in Sami’s hotel room and profess their love to each other. The next day, Sami, Miranda, and Elio spend the day together.
