Summary

Elio and Michel decide to do more research into the life of Léon (Ariel Waldstein.) Elio speculates that Ariel might have been captured by the Nazis in the 1940s and killed because he was Jewish, or that he might have fled to another country. Elio also speculates that Ariel gave Adrien the cadenza as a reminder of him; Ariel likely asked Adrien to pray for him and to try to find him at some point. Elio and Michel find out that Ariel played for the same quartet that Elio and Michel had seen when they first met. They decide to talk to the eldest current members of the quartet and ask if they have any memories or information regarding Ariel.
