Summary

The next day, Sami and Miranda meet Elio in the lobby of Sami’s hotel. Sami introduces Miranda to Elio. Miranda is very frank with Elio about the nature of her relationship to Sami. Elio takes this information in stride. Elio is in his late twenties and is a professional, classically trained pianist. The three of them begin walking around Rome, visiting places to which Sami and Elio have sentimental attachments. One moment, when Sami and Miranda are separate from Elio, Miranda asks Sami if Elio is perturbed by her presence.
