Chapters 12-19 Summary

In Chapter 12, Marcie attempts to be nice by giving Nora a nurse's excuse she needs to avoid trouble at school. At the same time, Nora manages to learn from Marcie that Blakely has a brother who plays football for the high school team and he has never missed a game. Nora is pleased to have this information, but unhappy that it comes at the price of promising to allow Marcie to be present when she questions Blakely, supposedly about the murder of their father. After school, Nora goes to Patch and tells him what she has learned. They formulate a plan to catch Blakely and question him. On the way home, Nora is pulled over by a cop she is familiar with from past trouble. Nora realizes the man is not human, but she does not know what he is.
