Hospital Room

This setting is the most important because it is where the entire novel takes place. Amanda is in a hospital bed with David, and she is recounting the story of how she got sick. The novel consists of Amanda’s story as she describes the events which transpired which led her to become hospitalized.

The Green House

The green house mentioned in Amanda’s story is the place in which David undergoes a spiritual migration. This pivotal event leads to David becoming a different, apathetic person, and the events which transpire following the spiritual migration are the main basis for the remainder of the plot.

Amanda's Holiday Home
