Part 1, Moon: The Nose Grid; The Moon Is in the House of Boring Summary
In The Nose Grid, Quendy is upset because her lesion spreads, but Calista insists it is not spreading. Link asks the girl in gray if the lesion is bad. She explains that each face has an imaginary nose grid. The vertical line cuts down the center and the horizontal line cuts across the top of the cheeks. The nose is the center of the two lines. Any lesion that is not on these lines looks fine, thus Quendy's lesion is fine. The girl says it frames Quendy's face, and Quendy is happy. The others are stunned at the girl's brilliance. The girl and the other girls go to the bathroom to arrange Quendy's hair around the lesion. Quendy is happily the center of attention. Titus wants to be with the girl more than anything.
