Chapters 4 Summary

Arriving home, Shane immediately sequesters himself in his room and does not come down to enjoy the meal Eve has made. Eve and Claire start discussing his behavior when Michael orders them to stop talking about the situation, provoking Eve to snap back at Michael, complaining that he's asserting his male privilege by ordering her around. Claire realizes that Michael's vampire side is being to assert herself, but his "Michael" side takes over again and he soothes Claire's fears by stroking her cheek. Claire goes up to Shane's room to try to commiserate with him. Shane tells her that the powerful vampires can get inside your head and make you do things you don't want to.
