Cather Cath Avery

Cath Avery is the main character of the novel. She is the twin sister of Wren and the daughter of Art and Laura. Cath is beginning her first year of college. She is highly intelligent but is insecure to the point that she hides from new experiences and can’t even bring herself to go to the dining hall alone. Cath’s first disappointment of her college career comes when her twin sister decides she’d rather not room with Cath. Along with leaving home for the first time, Cath is forced to try to muddle through new surroundings without his sister who has been her best friend up to this point.

Though she doesn’t like to think about it, Cath is still suffering from trauma caused when her mother abandoned the family when Cath and Wren were still young girls. A series of children...
