Chapter 21 Summary

After another bit of quiet time, they have to go on patrol at the river Song Nha Ngu. Everything looks clear until they realize that the Congs are under the water, breathing through reeds. They shoot up the river, but when Brunner requests to be picked up there, he is told the squad needs to go back to the Landing Zone. Perry and Peewee get sent to check the ridge across the stream (the river is actually more of a stream here). When Perry and Peewee get across the stream, they hear gunfire and turn to see their squad involved in a firefight.
