In at least one poem ("Afterword - Section 3"), narration refers to events taking place in London. Because the character / identity of the speaker in this poem is essentially similar to the character / identity of the speaker in several of the poems (i.e. the man orphaned as a youngster who journeys towards death), the inference of this particular poem is that the other poems in the collection that evoke this character's story are also set in London.

The poem "The White Series" is set in the American state of Montana, a prairie state with wide open skies, a history of heavy winters.
