Chapters 15 & 16: A Return & Torment Summary

Months pass after Snow White's accident and the young Prince continues to visit. The Queen sees that he is in love with Snow despite the fact that the Queen has tried to hide the girl's beauty. The Queen realizes that the Prince will soon ask for Snow's hand in marriage. Telling herself that it is for Snow's own good, the Queen confides the Prince that Snow White does not love him. She advises that it would be best for him to leave and never come back, to find a young woman capable of loving him in return. The Prince looks crestfallen but returns to his kingdom without another word. After, the Queen rushes to her chambers to raise her self-confidence. As usual, the Slave agrees that she is the fairest in the land. The Queen's heart soars...
