Book 4, Canto 1 Summary

Britomart and Amoret continue their search for Scudamore. Apparently, Amoret and Scuadamore were married, but Amoret was kidnapped by Busirane during the wedding feast. Now traveling with a man who is not her husband, Amoret fears for her honor. Britomart doesn't help this idea by pretending to be a knight. 1t is only when they come to yet another castle and meet a knight intent on claiming Amoret for himself that Britomart takes off her helmet and reveals her sex. Amoret is much relieved and the women form a fast friendship. Britomart and Amoret meet up with two knights and their respective women: Paridell (love 'em and leave 'em) and Duessa (witch from Book 1); Blandamour and Ate. Paridell remembers Britomart (and how she beat him) and declines a fight, but.....
