Chapter 25 and Epilogue Summary

Kinsey goes back to the motel where she sneaks inside. Kinsey studies the layout of the Fowlers' apartment and realizes that several of the rooms upstairs belong to the apartment as well. Kinsey slips upstairs and lets herself in to room twenty. This room is clearly Ann's bedroom. Inside, Kinsey finds shotgun shells that are waiting to be filled with rock salt as well as the tape recorder used in the crank phone calls. In the closet, Kinsey finds hundreds of statements for an investment that began in the same dollar amount as the money Bailey gave Jean to hide. Kinsey turns and discovers Ann watching her from the bed. Ann has a gun. Ann tells Kinsey that she is going to kill her and claim trespass. Kinsey gets her talking, hoping to avoid being killed. Ann confesses to killing Jean, telling Kinsey...
