Chapters 20-21 Summary

Kinsey takes a couple pain pills and tries to get some sleep; however, a crank call wakes her in the middle of the night. Kinsey gets out of bed and goes to the window where she sees someone else in a nearby room is also awake by the light shining through their window. The phone rings again. Kinsey listens closely and realizes that the person is making threats against her is using a tape recorder played on slow to disguise the voice. Kinsey dresses and goes downstairs to ask Bert if the call came through the switchboard. Bert tells Kinsey that the switchboard is turned off at ten, so the only way the calls could have come through would be a room to room call. Kinsey looks at the list of guests, but does not recognize any names.
