Chapter 12 Summary

Hope Hubris says that the iron industry has a great deal of power because iron is used for power throughout the solar system. The iron companies have been colluding to keep prices high, but Hope has nationalized Planetary Iron Company, and brought prices back down.

The Iron industry's opposition is different from the Resistance, which is a non-violent organization run by concerned citizens—like Jose Garcia.

At a meeting of Big Iron executives, Hope Hubris begins the discussions, but a robot walks into the room, and aims for him. Coral throws a grenade at the robot—and therefore also at Hope. A holo had made it look like Hope Hubris had already gotten out of his chair, so Coral does not know that she is throwing a grenade at Hope himself.
