Summary

Chapter 26 – Aimee tells Carlos to trust her. Carlos asks her to dinner. Carlos and Aimee talk about everything but themselves as they walk to dinner, at which point Carlos says everything is simply overwhelming. Carlos talks about his life in Porto Escondido, about having to recover after the accident. Aimee urges him to dance with her, but Carlos says he does not dance anymore. It is then that Aimee sees him as Carlos, and not James.

Chapter 27 – Carlos and Aimee head to the gallery to pick up his Jeep Wrangler. Aimee asks Carlos to bring her to his home, not far away. Carlos agrees. Aimee is amazed to discover he lives on the beach. Carlos says he could not imagine living anywhere else. He asks about his life as James, and about Aimee. She shows him their engagement ring.
