Mary

Mary North is an eighteen-year-old woman living in England during World War II. The daughter of wealthy parents, with her father being a Member of Parliament, Mary drops out of finishing school to volunteer at the War Office to do her part against Nazi Germany. She is initially assigned to teach school at Hawley, but fired for being too friendly and casual with the students. When seeking rehiring, she meets and falls in love with Tom, who arranges a new class for her. However, Mary’s willingness to teach black students like Zachary rubs some people the wrong way.
