Summary

Morning arrives and Trudel escorts Frau Rosenthal downstairs to Judge Fromm's apartment. Within seconds of ringing his bell she is invited inside. Trudel leavest the building quickly, and both woman avoid running into the Persicke brothers who have just gone out. The oldest boy drags a drunken and beaten Emil Borkhausen back to his wife at the rear of the building. She discovers some money in his pocket which has been given to him by the Persickes as a way of keeping the men quiet about the break-in and subsequent involvement with the family. The other brother takes Enno Klug home to his wife. Eva is already at work so Enno is deposited at his neighbor's home. Frau Gesch takes him in only because she fears the SS man. She feeds him and allows him to rest since he is still drunk...
