Act 2, Scenes 26 and 27 Summary
These scenes serve as transitional material into the play's final, climactic sequence.
Scene 26 - As Dysart reads Alan's letter, Alan narrates the contents, acknowledging that everything he talked about under hypnosis was true. Dysart joyfully calls for the nurse and asks that Alan be brought to him, telling her that if he's not back in bed by the time he's supposed to be, Dysart will take the responsibility. The nurse fetches Alan.
Scene 27 - Dysart apologizes to Alan for not seeing him that day. Alan admits that it was because he was annoyed with him. Dysart says he'll make up the session right away, then and there, in the dead of night, which he says is better than going to sleep.
