Gilgamesh returns to the city and finds that he has attracted the attention of the goddess, Ishtar. Ishtar offers to become his wife, but Gilgamesh turns her down. He insults her and talks of all the lovers she has had and all the wicked things she has done to men. Furious, the goddess appeals to her father, the god Anu. She tells her father that if he doesn't allow her to use the Bull of Heaven to bring down Gilgamesh and his city, she will tear apart the gates of hell and let the dead loose on the world.

Anu grants Ishtar the Bull of Heaven and she brings it to Uruk. When the Bull reaches earth, it breathes and opens a great canyon on the ground. 100 young men fall into the first.....
