Chapters 13-16 Summary

Chapter 13 begins with 15 minutes until Aenea steps out of the Sphinx. De Soya has asked Sergeant Gregorius and his men to stay with him at the Sphinx. Captain de Soya's primary concern is for the child's safety, so he announces that any harm that comes to her will result in a court-martial and execution. De Soya is not the usual commander, and places himself at the mouth of the Sphinx to greet Aenea instead of high in a spaceship watching from a safe distance. The chapter ends with Aenea stepping from the Sphinx, de Soya says her name. Then a second large and dark figure emerges and starts screaming.

Chapter 14 begins with a quick peak at Raul flying through the labyrinth, but then switches back to de Soya on the battlefield. The medic waiting to sedate Aenea looses an arm. Blood...
