Summary

The Prologue introduces Eliza Mirk and how she has created a successful webcomic called Monstrous Sea. In the forums, she is known as LadyConstellation, but she keeps her real identity hidden.

Chapter 1 gives details about Eliza’s webcomic that she has been making over the past two years. She spends time reading comments on the forums, but tries to limit herself. She deals with depression. Her mother makes her eggs for breakfast every morning and her father calls her Eggs. Her mother is preoccupied with working out and reading health magazines.

Chapter 2 delves deeper into the success of Monstrous Sea, which has become a “phenomenon” (8), in part because of Eliza’s anonymity.
