Book 3 (pgs. 359-402) Summary

Baron Harkonnen rages from his private rooms to where Nefud sits in a semuta stupor, listening to eerie music. The Baron demands how long Nefud has been in service, if he has always anticipated dangers, and Feyd-Rautha whereabouts. Nefud claims to have tried hard for two years and his nephew is in the slave quarters. A slave boy has gotten through with a blemish on his thigh. The Baron produces a tiny weapon taken from that leg. Thanks to his own spy network on his uncle, Feyd-Rautha appears to face charges of conspiracy. The Baron orders the slave master, with whom Feyd-Rautha has been playing cheops garroted and has the nephew precede him to his private chambers, allowing him to fear assassination, even though his investment in Feyd-Rautha is too great.....
