Book 2 (pgs. 316-356) Summary

Feyd-Rautha on his 17th birthday kills his 100th gladiatorial slave. The Fenrings visit Giedi Prime for the occasion and find the family city of Harko festooned but revealing the planet's filth around the edges. The Fenrings share a secret language in which they talk about showing the Baron the full price of eliminating Leto. The Baron hopes Feyd-Rautha realizes that beneath his annoying, foppish ways, Fenring is a dangerous killer. Feyd-Rautha admires the Lady's beauty but finds her Bene Gesserit serenity unsettling. He offers to dedicate the day's kill to her but is rebuffed. As the fighter resentfully strides off to prepare, the Lady wonders if his bloodline is what the Reverend Mother really wants preserved.

The Baron and Fenring talk beneath a cone of silence. Fenring relays the Emperor's displeasure.....
