Jessica springs from her bed at 2 AM, hearing a loud disturbance, straps on her chrysknife, pulls on robe and slippers, and moves to the Great Hall. There, she finds guards restraining a drunken Idaho, who has escorted one of the dinner guests home. Jessica orders a stimulant. An exhausted Yueh arrives and is forcing caffeine on Idaho when Jessica slaps Idaho's face and throws the contents of the cup in his face. Idaho declares he is taking no orders from a Harkonnen spy, and both Yueh and Jessica stiffen. Yueh admits knowing that she has been watched, and Jessica demands that Hawat be brought to her immediately. He must be the traitor. In her room, Jessica sizes up everything for use in an emergency.
